This programme is available through our Combined Honours degree programmes where you combine 2 related or unrelated subjects. It allows you you keep your career options open and to develop expertise in more than one subject area. In Biology the first year is broadly based, covering the fundamental principles and practice of biology and the practical techniques used by the professional biologist. The second and final years are more advanced. selected for their relevance to human biology and the application of biological technology in society. Graduates are eligible for Graduate Membership of the Institute of Biology (GIBiol). The Business Administration programme aims to prepare you for a successful career in management. Graduates may be eligible for certain exemptions from the foundation stage exams of the: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Chartered Insurance Institute, Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). You choose either to study for 3-years full-time or four-year sandwich programme which includes the third year in a paid professional placement. Assessment is by a combination of exams, practical, and continuous assessment. The biological programmes have been rated as excellent (23/24) for Teaching Quality Assessment. The Aston Business School has a Grade 5 ranking for research and has obtained a perfect.
