Combined Honours: For each subject, pre-final year contributes up to 30% towards your final degree classification. For some subjects, the placement year will constitute part of this element, 30-50% of your overall assessment will be by continuous assessment, depending on your particular subjects. There is the option to take a year out in a paid professional placement. Graduates are eligible for Graduate Membership of the Institute of Biology (GIBiol). Chemistry will introduce you to new and exciting branches of the subject. You will study the composition, structure, reactions and properties of substances and their uses in applied and industrial chemistry. You will be eligible to become a Licentiate of the Royal Society of Chemistry (LRSC).
