Combined Honours: For each subject, pre-final year contributes up to 30% towards your final degree classification. For some subjects, the placement year will constitute part of this element, 30-50% of your overall assessment will be by continuous assessment, depending on your particular subjects. There is the option to take a year out in a paid professional placement. In Chemistry you will study the composition, structure, reactions and properties of substances and their uses in applied and industrial chemistry. You will be eligible to become a Licentiate of the Royal Society of Chemistry (LRSC). The French programme consists of both core courses and electives. This combination provides you with written and oral communication skills and in-depth knowledge of the political, historical, social and cultural context of France whilst also allowing you to specialise. The third year is spent in a French-speaking country.
