This award opens up opportunities in the healthcare field such as hospital-based physiology. You will be able to enter careers that involve performing physiological tests to diagnose pathological conditions in the cardiac, vascular, neurological or respiratory systems. This programme will provide you with thorough background knowledge in the functioning of the major physiological systems of the body. The pathology associated with these systems will be studied to illustrate how malfunction of components at a cellular level can have major influences on how the body operates. You will develop competency in a full range of physiological recording techniques, along with an understanding of the theoretical principles upon which they are based. This course is also available as a Sandwich course of 4 years and a part-time course of 4-6 years.
